"make" or "do"?
It's not always easy to make a decision!

It is not easy to explain the precise difference between make or do, and many of the examples you just have to learn, but generally
we use do for daily activities (very often not the most exciting ones!) and usually they do NOT produce anything:
e.g. to do the washing , to do the cleaning, to do homework
We also use do when we are talking in general about activities that are imprecise:
What are you doing?
You should do something about that strange noise - perhaps there is something seriously wrong with your car!
We use make if something is created:
I love making cakes
but also with many other standard expressions, of which I will give a few examples:
to make a mistake
to make plans
to make progress
to make an excuse
to make an arrangement
to make a telephone call
to make friends .......... and important for some........ to make money
