what you see.....
What you see is what you get (wysiwyg)
'Wysiwyg', pronounced 'whizzywig', is one of the best-known of all acronyms.
This was the phrase that used to appear on your computer screen to say that the page would be printed as it was visualised.
But in fact it became popular as a catch phrase in a television show and later the acronym was invented, it would seem by a group of bright teenagers looking for a slogan for a fake business.
The other suggestions that came out in the project were:
SPOT - Selling Products of Tomorrow
LIFE - Lets Insure Future Existence
But the one that gained immediate popularity was this one:
WYSIWYG - What You See Is What You Get

The phrase was made famous in the song sung by Britney Spears with the same title and the "memorable" chorus:
What you see is what you get
This is me (hey, you)
If you want me, don't forget
You should take me as I am
'Cause I can promise you
Baby, what you see is what you get
It means roughly the same as 'take me as you find me'.
